AUTHOR BIO

Joel Fairley is a retired American Baptist pastor, artist, former actor, director, and school teacher. Although He has experienced spiritual brokenness in his life, it has led him to a deeper appreciation and understanding of God’s grace and restorative love.

He is a graduate of Judson University, in Elgin Illinois and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Seminary, in Philadelphia.

His literary influences range from CS Lewis, to Fred Buechner, and those who present a creative and unique way of looking at life, faith and love.

As a visual artist he adapts a whimsical, illustrative style into his art, which is sometimes abstract, but always full of color, lots, and lots of color.

Although he has written many stories, scripts and parables, for children and adults, Fall of the DawnStar’is his first novel.

Joel and his wife Sue share five children, and seven grandchildren, and currently live in the Bay Area of Northern California, with their dogs Katie and Scout.
